We Tied the Knot!

January 16, 2021 ∙ San Geronimo, CA

To our wonderful friends and family,

On January 16th, 2021 we shared our vows in a grove of trees amongst an intimate circle of loved ones. It was a perfect sunny winter day, better than we could have ever imagined, blessing us on our journey into marriage.

While we wish we could have celebrated this special day with all of our community, we just couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’ and make it official! We are very much looking forward to our big wedding bash in the future when we can celebrate with everyone. On this wedding site we will share details of the party once we find a date to safely gather. Hoping for the fall!

We appreciate your continued love and support, and while we feel it was the right decision, we hope you understand it wasn’t easy to make.

With love,

Kate & Mario

Our Story

Our story began on the 4th of July, 2017. As some of you may know Kate had just relocated to Colorado a few months before, flying home for her brother's wedding. While out galavanting the festivities of the 4th, Kate and her future sister-in-law Sabrina ran into Mario. Sabrina practically dragged Kate over to re-introduce the two of them. See, they went to high school together, and even found out months later that they were in the same preschool class. When Sabrina saw the connection between the two of them, she invited Mario to the reception of her wedding. Certainly the best wing-woman one could ask for! At that moment both Kate and Mario knew that something special was taking place.

They spent the next few days before and after the wedding practically inseparable from each other, and the news of their connection spread quickly. Did we mention that both of their families own the neighboring horse ranches? This is always a fun twist to the tale.

After that first week meeting, Kate went back to Colorado, where she had been living since the Spring. Mario visited her a few times in Boulder where they went on hikes, visited National Parks and distilleries, dined finely, and went on an amazing camping trip through the Sangre de Christo Mountain Range. Kate also visited Mario. They would explore West Marin and West Sonoma County through weddings, beach outings, and meandering back roads. On Mario’s second to last trip to visit, he asked her to move in with him.

They share a passion for living in relationship with the land, growing food, homesteading, swing-dancing, road trips, and exploring the outdoors. In early 2020 they moved onto Mario's family ranch where they have a one acre farm, a dream of theirs that became a reality, and now added their dog Otis to the family.

Now it is their time to shine in celebration of their union, cheers to the newlyweds!
